Upon being honorably discharged from the U.S. Marines, John went on to pursue a boxing career. After 26 professional fights, he concluded there must be a better way to make a living! A chance meeting with a casting director at a wedding reception near Universal Studios, changed his direction. From there, he embarked on an acting career with many television appearances including “Remington Steele”, “Barnaby Jones”, “Baa Baa Black Sheep”, “C.H.I.P.S.”, “The Rockford Files”, and more.
He has appeared in movies such as “Deal of the Century”, “The Late Show”, “The Long Goodbye”, “A Fine Mess”, “Three Women”, and “There Was A Crooked Man” , among others.
In 1975 he rushed to the set of the “SHAZAM!” television series on short notice to step into the boots of Captain Marvel. It is one of his favorite achievements as an actor, as he was able to speak to millions of children and young adults in their formative years.
How he got mixed up with these yahoos, is still somewhat of a mystery to him, but he enjoys doling out episode recaps and even shares some valuable nuggets of wisdom each week!
